Bears K Cairo Santos makes 27 straight to finish top kicking season in team history

Cairo Santos looked like his career might be over before the Bears plucked him from free agency to replace Eddy Pineiro. Then he put together the best kicking season in franchise history.
Santos closed the regular season by making all three of his field goals — 30, 27 and 20 yards — in the 35-16 loss to the Packers to push his streak to 27 in a row and finish 30 of 32 with his only misses coming from 46 and 52 yards. His 93.8% accuracy beat Robbie Gould’s 89.7% in 2008 and ’13.
Santos also made 36 of 37 extra points, with the only miss being stuffed the instant he kicked it.
He made 84.3% for the Chiefs from 2014 through ’16 before injuries derailed him. He bounced among six teams the next three seasons, including a brief stop with the Bears in 2017, and made just 68.8% of his field goals. The Titans cut him last season after an 0-for-4 debacle.
