The Chicago Bears are embarrassing the Washington Commanders 27-3 at halftime of their Week 5 game on Thursday Night Football.

The Bears jumped out to an early lead when quarterback Justin Fields connected with wide receiver D.J. Moore on a 20-yard touchdown pass.

Washington went three-and-out on both of its first two possessions while the Bears kept scoring touchdowns. Fields found Moore for another touchdown, this time from 11 yards out, to give Chicago a 17-0 lead.

The Commanders didn’t pick up their first first down until early in the second quarter.

Midway through the second quarter, it looked like the Commanders may finally strike, but quarterback Sam Howell missed a wide-open Dyami Brown in the end zone. Washington settled for a 51-yard field goal from Joey Slye.

The Bears kicked another field to go up 20-3. Howell was intercepted on the next possession, and Fields later found tight end Cole Kmet for his third touchdown pass of the night to give Chicago a 27-3 lead.

The Commanders have allowed 307 total yards in the first half. Fields has completed 12 of 20 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Chicago rushed for 122 yards, averaging almost seven yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, Howell completed nine of 13 passes for 71 yards with an interception. Terry McLaurin has one catch for three yards.

Washington will open the second half with the football.
