The three remaining faithfuls shared a £101k prize pot on the BBC’s The Traitors after a final full of twists and turns. Hannah, Aaron and Meryl all voted to banish Wilf – who has been the traitor in their midst since the very first episode. They then chose to end the game, meaning the money would be shared between them.

Master manipulator Wilf came close to taking all the prize fund for himself. However fellow traitor Kieran threw a spanner in the works with a cryptic comment at the round table.

The episode opened with faithfuls Hannah, Aaron and Meryl remaining in the running along with traitors Kieran and Wilf. But instead of working with Kieran, Wilf sowed seeds of doubt about him in a bid to take all the cash for himself.

Kieran was then duly banished but was the only contestant to vote for Wilf, cryptically describing it as a “parting gift”. Wilf insisted to the others that Kieran had “set me up to make me look bad”.

It led to suspicion finally falling on Wilf, with Aaron questioning him: “But why does he want that, Wilf?”. He added: “Why was he going all cryptic? And at the end he said it was a parting gift.”

Meryl said: “I don’t know what to do from here. I genuinely do trust you guys.” Hannah said: “Wilf I’ve never, ever wavered on you before but that comment….”

Presenter Claudia Winkleman told them they could end the game or vote again, with Hannah and Aaron both deciding to banish again – leading to Wilf being revealed as a traitor. Comedian Hannah said: “I don’t know why Kieran said what he said. I was given an ultimatum by Wilf and in my mind if you have to give another ultimatum, there is no trust.”

Wilf said he was relieved, telling the others: “I literally can’t put into words how happy I am at the moment. I’ve found it really hard.”

Earlier in the episode the contestants added £20,000 to their prize fund – taking them over the £100,000 mark – after successfully completing a helicopter and speedboat mission around Loch Glass.
