BBC Strictly fans blown away by Bobby Brazier’s ‘Mick Jagger’ transformation

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left blown away by Bobby Brazier’s transformation in his latest performance.

On Saturday, the EastEnders star and professional dance partner Dianne Buswell took to the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom to dance to Wham!’s Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

For the pair’s Jive, judges Craig Revel Horwood, Aton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Shirley Ballas awarded them 35 points.

However, it was the soap star’s Mick Jagger-inspired moves that impressed viewers at home.

One fan said on social media: “Bobby moving and looking like Jagger.”

A second wrote: “Bobby is so a cross between Mick Jagger and the legend that is ⁦@vernonkay.”

Another said: “Loves @BobbyBrazier and Dianne opening Strictly. But I have to say that Bobby was really rocking a cross between @MickJagger and @VernonKay.”

“Campaign for Bobby’s couples choice to be this, with Dianne dressed up as Bowie,” wrote another user alongside The Rolling Stone and David Bowie in the ‘Dancing In The Street’ video.

A fifth beamed: “Can’t be just me…Bobby could easily pass for a young Mick Jagger.”

Another X user went on: “@bbcstrictly Bobby looking like Mick Jagger tonight.”

Another took to social media and tweeted: “I really enjoyed that from Bobby, high energy and didn’t he look handsome as Mick Jagger again.”

Following the performance, Bobby discussed how it felt to open up the 2023 Blackpool special.

Speaking to Strictly host Tess Daly, the star said: “It feels like we came to bring a party because Blackpool wanted to party.”

The actor was then praised by the panel, with Shirley Ballas stating: “Strictly’s big night out in Blackpool at the Tower and you’ve never been to Blackpool before but you brought everything to this dance.”

She added that she was “so proud” of Bobby, and that he was a “star”.

Anton du Beke agreed and said: “I loved it from start to finish. Your energy was incredible – you kept it going throughout the whole dance.”

Unfortunately, Craig Revel Horwood wasn’t as impressed as his co-judges, and stated that the Wham! tribute was a “little bit stompy”.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday on BBC One.

After being subjected to a round of boos, he added: “I thought it was very difficult choreography for you.

“But I have to say you did brilliantly…. Absolutely brilliant.”

Motsi added that the Jive was the pair’s “personal best” before claiming that this was how the couple had to dance “from now on”.

After leaving the dance floor, Craig awarded Bobby a score of eight, while Shirley, Motsi and Anton all held up nines.

Tune into Strictly Come Dancing every Saturday on BBC.
