BBC Director General asked if he bowed to pressure from Tories in Gary Lineker impartiality

The BBC’s director general says that the corporation’s decisions are not influenced by pressure for any political party.

Mr Davie was speaking in response to allegations that the BBC was caving in under political pressure when Gary Lineker was stepped back from presenting Match of the Day this weekend.
