MIRALEM PJANIC has hit out at ex-Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri, claiming the tactician “didn’t trust” his own players last season.

Former Chelsea manager Sarri spent just one year in Turin before being replaced by Andrea Pirlo.

He arrived after leading the Blues to Europa League glory in 2019.

But Juventus failed to adapt to his tactics, despite them turning previous side Napoli into one of Europe’s most exciting teams.

Sarri – who has since been linked with Fiorentina – did manage to hold off challenges from Inter Milan, Lazio and Atalanta to win his first-ever Serie A title.

But after crashing out of the Champions League to Lyon in the last-16, Sarri was sacked from his post.

And Pjanic, who ditched Juventus for Barcelona over the summer, has now lifted the lid on life under Sarri.

The playmaker has not painted a pretty picture though, claiming he was left “disturbed” by Sarri’s man-management skills and lack of trust in the squad.

Pjanic told Tuttosport: “What still disappoints me to this day is that Sarri didn’t trust his men and that disturbed me.

“The way he misjudged people remains the worst aspect, because every player in that locker room has always and will always give their all for the club and team.

“You might not get along with one or two, but that has never affected our efforts.

“Every player wants to win, because they are incredible professionals who want to pursue their objective.

“So, if a coach puts that into doubt, it means you don’t have that alchemy that the president talked about.

“Nobody is doubting Sarri’s qualities as a coach, but there was this problem.

“At the end of the day, we still brought home another Scudetto, which must never be taken for granted.”
