Boy band Bangtan Boys, also known as BTS, will release a new song, “Take Two,” on June 9 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of their debut.

The song is specially dedicated to BTS fans, known as the “Army,” the band’s agency Hybe said on Wednesday.

“The song expresses the affection and gratitude BTS have for their fans. It carries the message that everything they have achieved over the past 10 years, and the fact that they can now begin their second chapter, is all thanks to the ‘Army,'” it said.

BTS made their debut on June 13, 2013.

BTS in June last year released the compilation album “Proof” and announced that they would take an indefinite hiatus from group activities and concentrate on individual efforts, but all the members took part in recording the new anniversary song.

Jin and J-hope did their part before they enlisted in the military last December and in April respectively to begin their mandatory service. Sugar took part in producing while RM and J-hope contributed to writing it.

There will not be any promotional activities, but a video the boys filmed earlier will be released with the song.

BTS have held an event for fans in June every year, and this time they plan to hold two weeks of events jointly with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to mark their 10th anniversary and also attract foreign visitors to the city.

Eight major landmarks in the capital including Sebit Island, the N Seoul Tower, Seoul City Hall, Dongdaemun Design Plaza and the World Cup Bridge will be illuminated in purple, the signature color of the Army, from June 12-25.

On June 17, a massive fireworks display will be held at the Han River Park in Yeouido. Videos of BTS will be screened on billboards on Sebit Island and the N Seoul Tower, while their pictures will be displayed at several subway stations on Line No. 5, whose color is purple.
