Here’s a Friday morning treat for Babyface fans.

A performance by the Indy-born music legend dropped on a National Public Radio YouTube channel.

Babyface appeared on NRP’s Tiny Desk concert series, the popular internet series of bite-sized stripped-down performances recorded live at a desk at an NPR office.

He’s part of a lineup celebrating Black Music Month.

Babyface, who as Kenneth Edmonds, graduated from North Central High School, has 11 Grammys and 50 nominations, including wins for Grammy for producer of the year every year from 1996 through 1998.

He’s produced or written hits for the likes of Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Usher, Beyonce and Madonna; and his LaFace Records label (co-founded with L.A. Reid) launched the recording careers of Toni Braxton, TLC, Usher, Pink and Outkast.

The performance is already recorded, so there’s no chance of Babyface’s followers being disappointed Friday. The show will go on at 5 a.m. on NPR Music YouTube page.
