AZ Alkmaar 7 Dundee United 0 RECAP as Tangerines suffer nightmare in the Netherlands

It was a night to forget for Dundee United as their Europa Conference League dream was ended in humiliating fashion at the hands of AZ Alkmaar.

Jack Ross and his men went into the second leg of their third qualifying round tie against AZ with a goal advantage. And they managed to sail through the opening 20 minutes without conceding before the floodgates started to open.

Glenn Middleton ‘s strike inflicted a shock defeat on the Dutch outfit in the City of Discovery, but this time it was the Eredivise side who sent shockwaves in north Holland with a 7-0 victory at the AFAS Stadion.

Aziz Behich was handed his debut while Jamie McGrath came in for his first European start in Tangerine. However the pair were helpless and will have to pick themselves up ahead of a visit to Tynecastle in Scottish Premiership action this weekend.
