Auburn-Georgia: Watch Richard LeCounte’s targeting send Shedrick Jackson’s mouthpiece flying
Auburn #Auburn
To say there is some hitting going on Saturday in the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry” would be an understatement.
On third-and-13 from the Georgia 15 and trailing 24-0 late in the second quarter, Auburn’s Bo Nix fired a pass to Shedrick Jackson at the 5 when Georgia defensive back Richard LeCounte rocked him, separating the ball – and Jackson’s mouth piece – from the receiver.
Flags flew and LeCounte was called for targeting.
To Jackson’s credit he popped right back up.
Two Bo Nix runs and a jet sweep later, Georgia forced Auburn into a field goal. Georgia led Auburn at halftime 24-3.
