Atkinson Road overpass in Green Bay reopens after fatal crash, officers investigating

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department has provided an update relating to the temporary closure of the Atkinson Road overpass at I-43, saying it was due to a deadly crash.
The road has now been reopened after it was temporarily closed as Green Bay Accident Reconstruction was called to investigate the cause of the crash.

Officers say a 55-year-old Howard man died as a result of the single-vehicle crash. It was reported around 5:40 a.m. on Friday.

According to the Green Bay Police Department, the Atkinson Road overpass at I-43 will be temporarily closed for part of Friday morning.

All on-ramps/off-ramps remain open, but vehicles will not be able to use the overpass to access Hurlbut Street or Velp Avenue and are asked to use the Shawano Avenue/I-41 exit or Webster Avenue/I-43 exits as alternative routes.
