Tapia was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday.
The 31-year-old righty has made nine appearances for the Athletics this season out of the bullpen and possesses a 7.80 ERA and 2.20 WHIP over 15 innings of work. He’s had much more success in Triple-A Las Vegas, where his numbers drop down to a much better 1.95 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 27.2 innings. Zach Logue was optioned to Las Vegas in a corresponding move.
