At 68, Christie Brinkley Is Glowing in a Gorgeous Garden Selfie: ‘The Power of Flower’
The Flower #TheFlower
Christie Brinkley is glowing in a new selfie posted from her garden.
“May the power of the Flower light up your day!” she wrote.
The former supermodel, 68, feels an immense connection to nature and gardens organically using zero pesticides.
It’s that time of year again—Earth Day and spring. The weather is turning warm and Christie Brinkley is back in her happy place, also known as her garden. And to celebrate Earth Day, the former supermodel, 68, shared a sunny selfie surrounded by flowers—pruning scissors at the ready, of course.
“May the power of the Flower light up your day! #earthdayeveryday #motherearth🌷🌼🌸🌱🌷🌺🌼🌸,” she captioned the Instagram. As always, Brinkley’s positivity was a welcome high note on followers’ feeds. (And, let’s be honest, her Lakers sweater paired with overalls was an outfit too cute not to share.)
“Love your positive, uplifting posts ♥️🌈💜,” one person commented. “Your pics are a whole vibe…just pure happiness!💛🌸✨,” someone else wrote. “You are a ray of light!! 🔆🔆🔆” another added.
On April 14, Brinkley shared another portrait of her bountiful land in honor of National Gardening Day. “My garden seemed to know it! Trees that were bare yesterday suddenly popped in celebration today!” she wrote under photos of her daffodils and blooming trees. She went on to share some gardening jokes:
“What do you call a bee that is hard to understand? A mumble bee. 🌼 What do you call a French baker’s favorite flower? Croissanthemum.🥐🌱 What do you get when you cross a four-leaf clover with poison ivy? A rash of good luck 🍀.”
The actress is excited to return to sowing seeds after recharging the last couple of months at her house in Turks and Caicos. (Naturally, we were swooning over her beachy bathing suit shots the whole time.) Her garden, however, is located at Tower Hill, her home in Hamptons, New York.
“Got my hands back in the Earth today humming Joni Mitchell,” she captioned yet another selfie. “‘We are stardust We are golden And we’ve got to get ourselves Back to the garden.’”
Story continues
Last year, the mom of three welcomed hydrangeas, rhododendrons, peonies, gardenias, and more—and believe it or not, she grew them all organically using zero pesticides. In August, she pleaded with other gardeners to do the same.
“I just want to remind you of the power of growing your own slice of earth organically… from your lawn to your flowers and vegetable garden please avoid pesticides and herbicides that [through] runoff are polluting our rivers, oceans, and bodies,” she captioned a post. “It’s easier than you think, and you’ll become part of the solution rather than contributing to the problems.”
It’s truly impressive, what Brinkley manages to accomplish with her time. Whether she’s sharing beauty tips for women over 50, touting her prosecco brand, defying ageism, or, yes, even gardening, her energy truly never fails to amaze us.
Here’s to a happy and healthy season spent in the garden.
