Arsenal’s increasingly alarming problems in front of goal were further exposed in a 2-0 FA Cup loss to Liverpool.
Following the frustrating loss, manager Mikel Arteta called for fans to stick with the team saying, ‘what I beg from the supporters is that they’re behind the team in difficult moments… [so] they feel important and supported because they don’t deserve anything different’.
An end-to-end third-round contest was settled by two late goals — an own-goal by Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior in the 80th minute and a stoppage-time strike by Luis Diaz.
Arsenal have now lost four of their last seven matches in all competitions. In three of those defeats, they have failed to score.
