The Italian midfielder is set to joinin a trans fer worth up to £12million with a contract running until the summer of 2024.
Jorginho has been signed as an alternative to Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and West Ham’s Declan Rice.
The midfield duo are now likely to now be targeted in the summer window.
But fans are still angry and an “EduOut” campaign has started on social media, with Arsenal’s sporting director Edu being targeted.
Much of the anger appears to be about Jorginho being the wrong type of player – and his lack of pace.
Fans have admitted that they are scared of the day they see the midfielder next to Granit Xhaka, who is also on the slower side.
One Tweeted: “Q: How do you feel about buying Jorginho from Chelsea?
“A: He’s 31, slower than Micheal Oliver, and for god’s sake FROM CHELSEA.”

The tweet was paired with a video showing Michael Oliver running past Jorginho during a Chelsea match against Liverpool.
A second commented: “Jorginho to Arsenal is actually going to happen. Very underwhelming signing.
“I still don’t understand how we’re going to play Xhaka & Jorginho in the same midfield.”
A third wrote: “But I can’t help but feel aggrieved that we’ve gone from a 21yo potential future superstar to a 31yo washed Chelsea reject.
“Edu and the recruitment team have had a shocker.
“But let’s just hope Partey and Xhaka stay fit / don’t get suspended from here on in.”
A fourth said: “Can the human mind imagine a slower Premier League midfield pairing than Granit Xhaka and Jorginho?”
A fifth added: “I can’t imagine Jorginho and Xhaka playing in a midfield.”
Despite the concerns, Arsenal are still top of the Premier League and are looking to challenge for their first title in 20 years.
