ARSENAL fans were furious after Ben White’s own goal was allowed to stand despite Tomas Soucek appearing to pull Aaron Ramsdale’s shirt.
West Ham took the lead in the 29th minute when Jarrod Bowen’s corner was inadvertently headed into his own net by White.

However, Ramsdale immediately protested to referee Simon Hooper as he felt Soucek was holding his shirt and impeding him from getting to the ball.
But the Arsenal keeper’s anger came to nothing as the goal was allowed to stand.
VAR is not in operation in the Carabao Cup until the semi-final stage.
And Gunners supporters could not believe the infringement had not been spotted by referee Hooper.
Taking to social media, one person said: “Ramsdale almost had his shirt ripped off by Soucek.”
Another added: “Robbery. Ramsdale was impeded 🤡👋.”
A third replied: “That was a foul on Ramsdale though.”
While a fourth responded: “That tug on Ramsdale’s shirt was so blatant man.”

Arsenal came into the tie on a four-game unbeaten run.
Meanwhile, West Ham had lost their last three and were without a victory in four.
But White’s own goal got the hosts off to the perfect start in front of a raucous London Stadium crowd.
