Arsenal 5-0 Nottingham Forest LIVE! Odegaard goal – Premier League result, updates and highlights
Odegaard #Odegaard
The Gunners are today looking to get back to winning ways, and retake top spot in the Premier League in the process, after dropping points last weekend and falling to defeat at PSV in the Europa League. No need for alarm bells just yet, but another slip up today may change that after a few less-than-impressive performances.
On paper, this should be a routine victory for the Gunners as they take on a Nottingham Forest side sitting bottom of the table, though a deserved victory over Liverpool last time out will have given Mikel Arteta further food for thought, especially given his team’s unwanted habit of conceding at home.
This is the first league meeting between the two sides since January 1999 and you can follow the game LIVE with Standard Sport’s dedicated match blog below, featuring expert insight and analysis from Arsenal correspondent Simon Collings from the Emirates Stadium.

92min: That’s your lot! A thumping win for the Gunners, who return to the top of the table.
15:45 , Alex Young
84min: It’s just not Jesus’ day today. White flicks on Odegaard’s corner delivery and Jesus looks certain to poke the ball over the line, but is inches out of reach.
GOAL! 15:37 , Alex Young
78min: Odegaard gets in on the act!
A neat little pass from Jesus and the skipper dances into the area, before driving home into the roof of the net.
Super finish.
15:34 , Alex Young
76min: A couple more changes for Arsenal. Tierney and Nketiah on, Xhaka and Saliba off.
15:32 , Alex Young
74min: Most of the Arsenal squad are playing this a walking pace now, and you can’t blame them. Not Jesus though, he’s desperate to score.
15:26 , Alex Young
67min: Another chance for Jesus thanks to a superb long ball forward from Partey. The striker has a poor first touch and then the angle gets too tight.
15:21 , Alex Young
63min: More changes for Arsenal as Martinelli and Tomiyasu are replaced by Vieira and Cedric
15:18 , Alex Young
61min: Almost another! Forest are all at sea and gave the ball away in midfield, Odegaard looks up and immediately feeds Jesus into the area, but he can’t hit the target.
Almost a sitter.
GOAL! 15:18 , Alex Young
57min: Partey powers home a rocket from distance and the Gunners are officially running riot.
GOAL! 15:12 , Alex Young
52min: Nelson doesn’t score for two years and now has two goals in two minutes!
He ghosts between the Forest defence to slot home from six yards.
That’s game, set and match.
GOAL! 15:08 , Alex Young
49min: Nelson doubles Arsenal’s lead, slaming home at the second attempt.
That’ll settle any nerves.

46min: Back underway!

It sounds like Xhaka will be OK to continue after that brief injury scare in first-half stoppage time.

“Arsenal started really brightly and opened the scoring with a well-worked move, finished by Martinelli. Controlled the game since that, but have not managed to find a second goal. Saka going off is a blow.”

48min: That’s it for the first half!
14:47 , Alex Young
46min: Xhaka is now down and moving a little uncomfortably. He will need to be checked at half-time.
14:46 , Alex Young
45min: Two minutes added on.
14:44 , Alex Young
43min: Gabriel puts it on a plate for Lingard to have a pop from inside the area, but thankfully White is first to react and gets a fine block in.
14:41 , Alex Young
33min: A half-chance for Forest as Partey loses possession to Lingard, who scampers up field and ignores his team-mates before hitting a shot roughly 30 yards wide.
14:28 , Alex Young
26min: Concerning for both Arsenal and England as Saka eventually throws in the towel and has to come off.
Nelson replaces him.
14:22 , Alex Young
21min: Arsenal are boasting 75 per cent possess as we approach the halfway mark of the first half.
Simon Collings at Emirates Stadium 14:20 , Alex Young
“Saka still not running freely here. He winced after he hit that volley too. Nelson now joined Vieira in warming up.”
14:19 , Alex Young
17min: Saka looks like he’ll be OK, but Vieira is warming up just in case.
14:18 , Alex Young
16min: An injury scare for Saka, who appears to roll his ankle is grimacing quite a lot.
He’s back up, though, so will try to run it off.

“Noticeable how tucked in Tomiyasu is so far, very much like Zinchenko does. The Japan international has done that in other games, but not as clearly as today.”
GOAL! 14:07 , Alex Young
6min: The perfect start for Arsenal as Martinelli heads past Henderson at the near post!
13:39 , Alex Young
Some very good news ahead of the game as Gunners player Pablo Mari is out of hospital after being caught up in a stabbing incident in Milan during the week.
More to come.

For Forest, it’s just one change from the win over Liverpool as Renan Lodi replaces Neco Williams at left-back.

So, Arteta reverts back to his full-strength line-up and the same team which drew 1-1 with Southampton last weekend.
Still no start for Kieran Tierney, which is a tad concerning.

Team news is imminent.
Arteta wants goals 12:44 , Alex Young
Mikel Arteta is concerned by a lack of goals in his team.
Summer signing Gabriel Jesus is goalless in his last six appearances, while Eddie Nketiah’s strike against Bodo/Glimt on October 6 was the last time an Arsenal striker found the back of the net.
“We need goals and we need goals from our front players, that’s for sure, to win the games and to give us bigger margins (of victory),” Arteta said.
“Obviously, that run of a lack of goals has to end for us to be in a position to win more matches, that is for sure.”

The main man has arrived. No sign of the actual players yet, though.

The Gunners should get back to winning ways against a team which has scored just one goal on the road this season.
A 2-0 win.
Saka and Jesus to return 11:52 , Alex Young
Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should return after being among those rested for the trip to PSV.
Gabriel is the major doubt for the Gunners after he limped off in the Netherlands, while Oleksandr Zinchenko (calf) is unlikely to make his comeback on Sunday and the duo of Mohamed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe remain out.
