The Arizona Coyotes traded defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for a 2026 third-round draft choice on Wednesday.
Gostisbehere spent the last two seasons with the Coyotes and registered 82 points (24 goals, 58 assists) in 134 games. He led all Coyotes defensemen with 31 points (10 goals, 21 assists) and was fourth on the team in scoring. He also had two shorthanded goals this season.
“I think it was a win-win,” Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong said. “He got a lot better as a player and helped us win some games. He really had a great effect on the young guys by his work ethic and his professionalism. Now he has a chance to win a championship with Carolina so we’re very proud of him and wish him the best.”
