Ariana Grande is officially a blonde as she continues to work on the film adaptation of Wicked, where she’s playing Glinda. Grande casually shared a first look at her new hair color, writing, “new earrings.” In the first hour since Grande shared the post, over 1.3 million people liked it.

Grande has kept a pretty low profile on social media as she works on the film in London. She last shared a photo of her and Cynthia Erivo, who’s playing Elphaba, on October 11 in a carousel of images from her life in production. Her hair was its signature dark brown then.

Grande was cast as Glinda last November, sharing an Instagram with her reaction to being told she got the part on Nov. 4, 2021. “Thank goodness 💘 @jonmchu @cynthiaerivo @wickedmovie,” she wrote.

Grande has otherwise been working on her r.e.m. beauty line. She spoke to ELLE.com and other reporters last November about how she felt going into the already very saturated celeb beauty space.

“I was nervous about [starting r.e.m.] because I don’t ever want to just jump into something that is popular,” she admitted. “It has to feel super intentional and super fueled by passion. It has to feel super authentic to me. So let’s experiment, let’s dig in, and let’s play with some products. There are so many different versions to tell this makeup story and these formulas are so inspiring. We can bring our own version of this into the beauty space and I’m so excited.”

She added that she secretly tests the products long before they launch. “We were doing shows and finishing the tour and were able to test the highlight on stage and then make notes on the formula,” she said. “It’s been such a long road…going into the labs and trying everything and coming up with names.”
