Ariana Grande and husband Dalton Gomez have reportedly gone their separate ways.

After the singer attended a Wimbledon match without her wedding ring this past weekend, TMZ and People reported today that she and the luxury real estate agent have been separated since January.

Though the couple allegedly attempted to reconcile “a few months back,” a source told the outlet that Grande and Gomez’s relationship “is heading for divorce.” TMZ notes that Grande and Gomez have been thousands of miles apart from each other since the Grammy winner left to film Wicked in December, but that their relationship issues started long before that.

Another source for People confirmed the couple’s separation, saying that Grande and Gomez “have been quietly and lovingly working on their friendship.”

An insider for Entertainment Tonight gave some insight on the split. “Ariana and Dalton’s friends have always been concerned by their whirlwind romance and felt their relationship would ultimately be short-lived,” the source said. “Their relationship has been rocky at different points, and they’ve had trouble making time for each other with scheduling issues.”

The two first began dating in January 2020, and their relationship quickly got serious when they quarantined together during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2021, the couple officially tied the knot in a “tiny and intimate” ceremony held at Grande’s house, per People.

The “Thank U, Next” singer last posted about Gomez when she shared a rare PDA-filled selfie on Instagram this past May to mark their two-year wedding anniversary. The black-and-white photo was taken on their wedding day, showing Grande still wearing her veil while sharing a kiss with Gomez. “2 [years married], 3.5 years together!!!! I love him so,” she captioned the picture.

Since getting hitched, the pair have kept their relationship relatively out of the limelight.

A source told Entertainment Tonight in April, “Ariana has been so focused [on filming Wicked], but Dalton has been there with her and supporting her behind the scenes. He is happy for her, and they are very in love.”
