Some Fort Worth businesses and services will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday.
On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence and signed the Declaration of Independence two days later. Since 1941, the Fourth of July had been a federal holiday.
From grocery and liquor stores, to banks and the postal service, here’s what’s open and closed on Independence Day:
Are Fort Worth grocery and liquor stores open on Independence Day?
Liquor stores will be open on the Fourth of July.
The only time liquor stores are closed in Texas is on Sundays, New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most liquor stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
Most grocery stores will be open with regular operating hours on Tuesday. Walmart will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., Target from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Kroger from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Are Fort Worth banks and post offices open or closed on Independence Day?
Most banks will be closed for Independence Day in accordance with the Federal Reserve’s holiday schedule.
United State Postal Offices will be closed on Tuesday, as will UPS and FedEx services.
