Apple  (AAPL) – Get Free Report CEO Tim Cook hosted a surprising special guest on its 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) stage.

During the introduction of Apple’s newest product, Vision Pro, Cook welcomed in Disney  (DIS) – Get Free Report CEO Bob Iger who announced that Disney Plus would be available on Apple’s newest platform on “day one.”

“We’re so proud to yet again be partnering the greatest storytelling company in the world with the most innovative technology company in the world to bring you real life magic,” Iger said.

Part of the Vision Pro’s many use cases is media consumption, and Iger and Disney showed a short video to tease potential examples using Disney’s media.

Alternative viewing experiences for watching movies were among the examples. These could happen through different screens that bring the user closer to the setting. Disney also teased interactions with the Marvel Cinematic Universe asking the question, “What if you could become a superhero?”

It’s unclear whether that would be an interactive game with the platform, though Apple did have an Apple Arcade segment with the Vision Pro.

For the kids, the video also teased the opportunity for “imaginary friends” to feel more real, showcasing Mickey Mouse jumping out of a picture frame.

Sports was also one of the highlights, with the video narrator saying that Vision Pro users could “be at the game without leaving your home.” This showed multiple screens of different sporting events at once, and an alternative courtside view of an NBA game.
