‘Anti-nuclear zealot’ Chris Bowen’s modelling based on politics, not science: Credlin

Sky News host Peta Credlin has slammed Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen as an “anti-nuclear zealot” after inflating the cost of the Coalition’s proposed nuclear strategy. Mr Bowen claimed the Coalition’s plan to convert coal-fired power stations into nuclear small modular reactors would cost $387 billion. “I’ve also seen it mentioned that Bowen’s estimate factors in 70 new reactors, when experts say Australia might only need 10,” Ms Credlin said. “So it’s an over-blown costing, making it hard to see this is anything other than modelling built on politics, and not any engineering science.”
