Anthony Elanga has revealed he wants to build a strong bond with fellow Scandinavian Christian Eriksen to offer Manchester United a new goal threat.

United have signed Premier League veteran Eriksen on a three-year deal to bolster their midfield. The Red Devils have lost four players in their engine room over the summer and consequently needed new recruits.

Former Tottenham and Brentford star Eriksen therefore brings much-needed experience to the ranks

The attacking midfielder is also a major goal threat. Eriksen has scored 52 goals and assisted 71 others in 237 Premier League appearances.

And that record is music to the ears of Man Utd striker Anthony Elanga. The Sweden international hopes to strike up an instant bond with the club’s new arrival from Denmark.

“Another Scandinavian in the team is special,” Elanga said. “That makes three of us now in the team and it’ll be nice to meet him and play with him.

“He’s a special player, a really good player and I’ve played against him,” Elanga told United’s official website. “I had the honour to play against him last season and you could see his qualities from there.

“I feel like he’ll be a great contributor to the team.

“I’m really looking forward to playing with him and hopefully he’ll put some balls in behind for me to run on to. That will be nice!”

Eriksen played 305 games for Tottenham and was a leading light in the Spurs team which came close to winning the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final under Mauricio Pochettino.

From there, he plied his trade in Italy with Inter, before moving to Brentford following his recovery from a cardiac arrest.

Man Utd excitement building for Eriksen

Brazilian midfielder Fred added of Eriksen: “Great player! We all know of his quality. He was at Tottenham, last season at Brentford, he’s someone we know.

“He’s got the ability, a great player, attacking, strikes the ball well, knows where the goal is. He’ll add to the team and he’ll be made very welcome in our team, at Manchester United. Together we can achieve our goals.

“He’s a very experienced player, I’m sure he’ll contribute a lot.”

Eriksen’s three-year deal runs until he is 33 and gives him the chance to further cement his incredible recovery.

Denmark star looking to prove himself

United have signed a new player who has proved himself not once, but twice – the second time in the hardest possible way.

While Eriksen’s career was in danger amid his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, those concerns paled in comparison with the danger to his life.

But not only has he got back into top-flight football with Brentford, it was like he never left the Premier League.

One goal and four assists in 11 Premier League appearances for the Bees put him immediately back in the spotlight.

And now he is looking to be a driving force in getting Man Utd back in the Champions League and fighting for silverware.
