Anthony Davis will not be an All-Star this year

All-Star #All-Star

After a modest start to the season, Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers turned things up to an 11 around mid-November.

During a 13-game span, he averaged 32.4 points on 64.1 percent shooting, 14.0 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots per game, and he was looking like an absolute monster.

Alas, Davis suffered a stress injury in his right foot on Dec. 16, and he was sidelined as a result until last Wednesday. But since returning, he has quickly started to look like his old dominant self.

In Thursday’s furious comeback win over the Indiana Pacers, he had 31 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks, as well as multiple big plays on both ends in crunch time.

Yet, when the All-Star reserves were announced on Thursday, Davis’ name wasn’t on the list.

This will be the second year in a row Davis wasn’t chosen to be in the NBA’s midseason classic. But perhaps he will use this as motivation for the rest of the season.
