Australia has decided – winner of Big Brother 2022 is none other than Reggie Sorensen! She was voted the winner in the live finale, and what a finale it was.

Reggie Sorensen (Bird), Taras Hrubyj-Piper and Johnson Ashak went into the finale with equal chances of winning; after all, the decision was in Australia’s hands.

Fans were convinced OG Reggie would be the one to take home the win, her second after claiming the title back in 2004 – and she did!

The OG took home the crown once again, making her kids – who were standing at her side during the live finale – so proud as the crowd broke into chants of her name.

“I can’t believe it Sonia,” Reggie said, tearing up on stage. “Thank you to everyone who voted for me, I hope I did you all proud.”

“Congratulations to the winner of Big Brother, Reggie! The first Housemate to ever win Big Brother twice,” the official Big Brother Instagram page wrote.

Despite making history tonight, Reggie wasn’t confident going into the finale – in fact, she didn’t even consider that she may win.

“A lot of people think: ‘Oh, Reggie’s won it before, she’s got it in the bag’ and just sit back and not vote,” she told Now To Love before the finale.

“I don’t really know what’s going to happen, but I just need people to vote. That’s the main thing.”

Aleisha Campbell, who was evicted just a few episodes before the finale, predicted that Taras wouldn’t manage to secure the win as he went into the finale against Reggie.

“I think Taras maybe thought that he would get points for bringing Reggie to the end, and that the Australian public would love that and maybe vote for him.

“But I don’t think that’s how it will go down,” she told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

“I think the Australian public would vote for Reggie because as we say, she is so loveable, so likeable. And that would be the downfall to him probably winning.”

Fellow OG Estelle Landy put her faith in Reggie to win too, even though the mum of three struggled with some of the challenges due to her degenerative eye condition called retinitis pigmentosa, which has left her legally blind.

“This time around was so full on with challenges and strategy,” Reggie told WHO earlier this month.

“I really struggled with that. I ended up deciding to sit back and watch them all blow each other up.”

But some fans were more interested in seeing the evicted housemates return during the finale than they were in seeing the actual winner crowned.

Former flames Anthony Drew and Sam Manovski came face to face after their “showmance” fell apart in the real world… and Sam made some pretty bold comments about it to the media.

But the exes were on their best behaviour during the live finale, even when Sonia asked what went wrong.

“Drew lives in Melbourne, I live in Queensland. We are also very different, so just didn’t work out,” Sam replied.

Drew also caught up with his other ex, Tully Smyth, at the finale and though the duo clashed during filming, they seemed to have put the arguments behind them.

Though Tully was happy to get a few digs in at Drew for hooking up with Sam so quickly, even with his ex in the house.

“No-one wants to see your ex at a party let alone realise you are living in a share house with them,” she said.

“And my bed was next to Sam and opposite Drew, I couldn’t get away from them if I tried.”
