Another storm is expected to bring up to half an inch of rain to Southern California and maybe close to a foot of snow in the mountains on Wednesday.

Los Angeles and Orange counties could see about half an inch of rain amid 61-degree weather. The temps will dip to 52 at night. The good news is that the rain will likely clear by the afternoon, but another rainy day is expected on Thursday with the potential for some thunderstorms.

The valleys and Inland Empire will reach a high of 60 on Wednesday, dropping to 47 at night. Similar rain conditions are expected for Wednesday and Thursday.

The rain will cool things off at the beaches on Wednesday, with temps reaching a high of 58 and a low of 50.

Mountain communities will see snow showers pop up Wednesday and Thursday.

A winter storm warning will be in effect from 4 a.m. Wednesday until 2 p.m. Thursday in the eastern San Gabriel Mountains, with 6 to 12 inches of snow possible above 5,000 feet. Forecasters said some higher peaks could see up to 18 inches, with the snow accompanied by winds gusting up to 45 mph.

The western San Gabriel Mountains and Antelope Valley (14) Freeway corridor will be under a winter weather advisory from 4 a.m. Wednesday until 2 p.m. Thursday, with 4 to 8 inches of snow possible above 5,000 feet.

The advisory will also be in place during the same hours for the 5 Freeway corridor in northern Los Angeles County, where an inch of snow could fall on the Grapevine.

Deserts will also see some rain Wednesday as temps will stay in the mid 50s and drop to 45 at night.

The storm system is expected to move out of the area by late Thursday, with dry but cool conditions anticipated for Friday and the weekend.
