Anita Godwin

Anita Godwin, 65, a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, passed away Oct. 18, 2020, in Somerville, Tenn. She came into this world Jan. 15, 1955, the firstborn of Francis and Anna Bell Bunch, who preceded her in death.

An artist at heart, Anita always sought out the delicate intricacies of the world around her. She scoured flea markets and yard sales, had amassed a small library of books and music and would be the first to tell you about the one item she never could pass up: Little Golden Books, meant for her granddaughter, Abigail Walker.

Also surviving Anita are her children, Jennifer and her husband, Nick Walker; Brent and his wife, Chelsea; her ex-husband and dear friend, Roy; her three younger sisters—Jeannie, Elaine and Becky—her relatives from the Bunch and Chumley clans; the Godwins; and enough friends to fill a socially-distanced auditorium.
