Angelo State softball player Ashlyn Lerma won the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s NCAA Division II New Balance Golden Shoe Award and the Rawlings Gold Glove Award earlier this week, the organization announced.

Lerma also earned her first two All-American honors on Wednesday, being named an honorable mention All-American by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association and a second-team selection by the NFCA.

These awards come after Lerma was named a three-time Lone Star Conference Gold Glove winner earlier this spring, as well as earning her third LSC first team selection and three-straight LSC All-Academic Team selections.

In her final season with the Rambelles, Lerma had a .990 fielding percentage, led the team with a .372 batting average and also led the team with 61 hits. For her career, Lerma is second in program history for career stolen bases, fourth in career runs scored and 10th in games played with 225.
