Analysis: Wolves 3-4 Man Utd

When Manchester United eased two goals ahead at Wolves, this game looked done. After all, the past 10 meetings had produced just 11 goals.

But this game alone had seven goals in store, and while United did leave with three points it was far less comfortable than it should have been.

They were totally in control at half time but ceded control slowly but surely to Wolves, managing the game dreadfully in the second half.

It was summed up by Pedro Neto’s goal to make it 3-3 – scored on the break as United foolishly sought threw men forwards for a fourth of their own.

United have now conceded two or more goals in five consecutive league games for the first time since November 1977.

The saving grace came in the form of Kobbie Mainoo, on a night when another academy product, Marcus Rashford, seemed certain to be the headline act.
