An injured Patrick Mahomes threw a gutsy TD pass off one foot and NFL fans couldn’t believe his toughness

Mahomes #Mahomes

For a while on Saturday, everyone in Kansas City was concerned with Patrick Mahomes’ health. After the Chiefs’ superstar was frustrated because of an ankle injury — which led him to be temporarily replaced by Chad Henne — he would eventually come back to try and beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second half.

But it wasn’t evident he still wasn’t 100 percent, as he couldn’t pull off his usual Mahomes magic in the pocket. With the Chiefs driving and trying to give themselves a comfy 10-point lead in the fourth quarter, Mahomes, while hurt, still had some tricks left in his bag.

While being pressured by the Jacksonville defensive front, the quarterback stepped up in the pocket and launched an incredible TD pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Off one foot … you know, because his other foot/ankle was injured.

This man is flat-out ridiculous:

Mahomes’ TD pass through adversity gave the Chiefs comfortable late breathing room and an eventual berth in the AFC title game with a 27-20 win. But he still, unfortunately, fell short of a pregame over and under for his TD passes. Because, you know, he wasn’t right for a lot of the game and couldn’t play full throttle the way he hoped.

Something tells me the Chiefs’ star is elated nonetheless that he’ll have another chance — his fifth straight — to play for a spot in the Super Bowl.
