An 11-month-old baby girl who was the object of an Amber Alert Friday morning has been found safe and sound, police say.

“The child is receiving medical attention. One person is in custody,” police said on Twitter.

Police say the girl was last seen with her mother at about 1:55 a.m. in the area of Carling Avenue and Pinecrest Road.

Police are treating her disappearance as “suspicious” and issued the Amber Alert at 3:22 a.m.

Police said on Twitter the baby has a feeding tube in her stomach and “cannot be fed regular baby formula and she needs medical attention.”

At about 8:30 a.m. police issued a new picture of a “possible witness.”

Emergency Services Unit has been conducting a ground search of the area since early Friday.

“Officers are searching the area but investigators are asking nearby residents to search their properties and report anything suspicious.”

“If you see Abby, please call 911.”

Residents of the nearby Larga Baffin — a full-service boarding home for residents of the Baffin region of Nunavut — gathered outside Friday morning.

Some said they’d seen the alleged abductor with the baby and the mother the night before.

“We just saw her holding on to the baby,” said one woman, who gave her name only as Apa.

“We thought she was a social worker. They were even walking together.”

The last they saw her she was walking down to Richmond toward the OC Transpo stop, Apa said.

No one in the group had ever seen the woman before.

“No one even knows where she lived,” Apa said.
