‘Almost perfect’ Havertz praised after recent form | OneFootball

Peter Bosz praised his former player Kai Havertz following Arsenal’s match against PSV Eindhoven earlier this week.

Arsenal faced off against PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands on Tuesday, with Kai Havertz one of few players to retain his spot in a heavily-rotated starting lineup.

Havertz had also played against PSV in Arsenal’s earlier group game against the same opponents, but PSV boss Peter Bosz knew him long before that.

Bosz took charge at Bayer Leverkusen back in 2018, during one of Havertz’s breakout seasons for the Bundesliga club.

Havertz had only scored four goals in each of his first two campaigns for Leverkusen, but he netted 20 times and 18 times in the next two seasons under Bosz.

If there’s any manager who knows how to get the most out of the German international, it’s the PSV boss.

Speaking to the media after Tuesday’s Arsenal game, Bosz said he believes Havertz is playing in his best position now.

“Now he’s playing more again as an offensive midfield player,” Bosz said. “He can play those positions but he can also play from the side.

“That means he’s really an intelligent player, he’s technically almost perfect for such a tall player. He can score goals.

“I believe where he’s playing now maybe is his best position.”

Havertz has been impressing for Arsenal lately, winning the Player of the Month award for November and scoring three goals in his last six games.

It would have been four in six, if not for an unintentional slight brush of the ball against his hand against Aston Villa, if it even touched his hand at all.

Arsenal fans will hope the German can keep that run of form going when they host Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
