Allen’s top taxpayers spent more than $4.5 million on city property taxes last year

Allen’s top taxpayers spent more than $4.5 million on city property taxes last year, accounting for more than $921 million of the city’s property tax base, determined by their taxable assessed valuations.

The valuation is based on various factors, including the quality of property, square footage, building features and location.

VAA Improvements LLC led the city in 2020, paying nearly $800,000 in city property taxes in 2020, based on the tax rate of about 49 cents for every $100 of valuation. The rate has decreased by nearly 7 cents since 2011.

Here are the city’s top 10 principal taxpayers, according to the comprehensive annual financial report, which was released in mid-March.
