STORY: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Saskatchewan is responding to the reports, they said in an emergency alert that warned residents to seek immediate shelter in a secure location.

The alert came as an extensive manhunt entered its third day, with hundreds of officers searching for the surviving suspect in a stabbing rampage on the weekend that killed 10 people and wounded 18 more in one of the deadliest attacks in Canada’s modern history.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged residents to heed local authorities.

“We need to make sure that everyone stays safe,” he said during an event in Vancouver. “All Canadians stand with the people of Saskatchewan at this time.”

Myles Sanderson, 30, remained on the loose and possibly injured, police said on Monday, after they found his brother Damien Sanderson, 31, dead in a grassy area of the James Smith Cree Nation in Saskatchewan.
