All APC presidential primary aspirants became rich in public office except me – Okorocha

SENATOR Rochas Okorocha has claimed he is the only aspirant seeking to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform who did not become rich while holding public office.
Okorocha stated this while addressing party stalwarts and delegates at the venue of the presidential primary of the APC in Abuja Tuesday.
But the ICIR reports that the former Imo State Governor’s claim is untrue because not all the wealthy among the aspirants had held public office.
One of the aspirants, Tein Jack-Rich, has flourished in the oil industry and has no record of holding public office.
Okorocha said he was the party’s best candidate because he hated poverty and injustice.
He urged the delegates to think twice before voting so they do not return home to meet hardship prevailing in the nation.
He said he belonged to the downtrodden Nigerians, and expressed hope that poor Nigerians would vote for him if he gets the party’s ticket.

The former Imo State Governor said had the primary held on May 29 when it was earlier to hold, he would have been denied the opportunity to address the delegates because he was in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
