Ahmir Jolliff to be laid to rest in Perry, Iowa

According to Ahmir’s obituary, he had an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place, standing up against bullies and championing for those who needed a voice. Whether it was choir, band or soccer, Ahmir was an involved team player.
The entire city is feeling the loss, including Perry Middle School Principal Ned Menke.
“Ahmir was a friend of all of ours,” Menke said.
A visitation for Ahmir was held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Perry all day Wednesday.
His funeral will take place at Saint Patrick Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Overflow seating is available at Baptist Christian Church.
