‘Absolutely sublime’…BBC pundit blown away £17m Tottenham player v Wolves today
Tottenham #Tottenham
Tottenham played their first game since the nightmare against Chelsea last week as they tackled Wolves at Molineux.
There was no danger of Spurs sleeping on the job as they got off the fastest start possible, as Brennan Johnson tapped home from a fine Pedro Porro cross in the opening minutes.
The first 45 minutes played out as expected really and Spurs went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
However, Wolves were very much in the game and Tottenham were once again thankful to goalkeeper Vicario for making a couple of big saves.
One in particular came in the 33rd minute from Mario Lemina and watching on for TNT Sports, Lucy Ward sung the praises of the Italian.
Commenting on the incident, Ward admitted that it’s only a matter of time before Vicario gets his call to the Italy squad.
“Vicario “has been in absolutely sublime form this season, and he has needed to be given the risks Tottenham take at the back,” Ward said.
“Not yet capped by Italy but surely a matter of time given his recent performances. A good, strong hand there to deny a good strike from Lemina.”

Vicario was signed in the summer for around £17m and there was low expectations on him really.
However, he has jumped at the chance of playing for Spurs and replacing Hugo Lloris and right now, looks like one of the signings of the summer.
Having a top goalkeeper is something all the best teams have. Liverpool and City have Alisson and Ederson, while in the past we’ve seen the likes of Petr Cech and David Seaman have huge influences.
Vicario is well on his way to being a player Tottenham can rely on for years to come. And once again at Wolves today, he showed just why Ange Postecoglou puts so much trust in him.
