Aaron Ramsdale rages at Arsenal teammates for losing clean sheet despite routine victory in All Or Nothing clip – ‘Go with the f****** player!’

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was furious with his teammates after failing to keep a clean sheet in the Gunners’ 3-1 victory against Aston Villa last season.

Mikel Arteta’s men were comfortably leading 3-0 during the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium last October, when Villa’s Jacob Ramsey struck a superb 82nd-minute consolation goal for Steven Gerrard’s side.

But the build up to the goal clearly frustrated Ramsdale as Leon Bailey easily slipped past two Arsenal defenders to set Ramsey up to score.

Despite the victory, Ramsdale was infuriated by his side’s failure to shut up shop as he headed to the changing room full-time.

So much so, that he had to be consoled by members of the club’s staff after a flare-up with his defenders, as shown in Amazon Prime’s Arsenal: All or Nothing series.

The England international took his gloves and shin pads off and threw them in a fit of rage before launching a tirade about the goal.

“That was f****** s*** man. Go with the f****** player,” Ramsdale fumed. “That cost me the b****** clean sheet.”

The footage will no doubt have pleased Arsenal fans who will have seen the 24-year-old show levels of passion and emotion that have been called into question in recent seasons.

The acquisition of Ramsdale from Sheffield United in 2021 has coincided with an upturn in form for the Gunners, who missed out on Champions League qualification on the final day of last season.

Ramsdale edged out Bernd Leno to claim the No.1 spot and earned himself a call up to the England squad in the process.

His 12 clean sheets last season helped cement his place as first choice whilst Leno was recently sold to Fulham.

Explaining the importance of keeping clean sheets Ramsdale said: “When you play for a big club you definitely feel it [pressure] and I’m loving it.

“I’m not walking around saying I am the best in the world but I’ll always have aspirations to get there.

“Where I’ve come from in terms of the past two seasons, I knew how hard clean sheets are to come by in this league. It’s not just me trying to keep the ball out of the back of the net or my back four, it’s everyone.

“The Aston Villa game in the last five minutes where they scored another day that could be a 1-1 equaliser or a 2-1 and the last five or 10 minutes are a nervy ending.”
