A47 traffic: Live updates as lorry crash closes major road near Peterborough

A crash involving two lorries closed the A47 (The Causeway) Westbound on Sunday morning (August 24). The major Peterborough road closed between the B1167 and Willow Hall Lane.

Traffic built around Thorney, a village north-east of Peterborough’s city centre. after the crash and again when the road was reclosed for recovery work.

Police have that the westbound lane was closed, according to traffic information system INRIX. The crash was first reported shortly before 10am and the road was cleared by the early afternoon.

The road has reopened and traffic returned to normal.
