OK, it’s super early when this newsletter lands in your inbox. Which means I may be the first “voice’’ you hear today. With that comes great responsibility. So the first thing I want to say is, “Hey, Delaware. It’s April Fool’s Day. Keep your guard up, peeps.’’

In other words, as the kids say, keep your skepticals on today.

So, what is April Fools’ Day, anyway? Krys’tal Griffin has a story for just that. As it turns out, Delaware REALLY likes this holiday:

But not everything you hear today will be fiction created to dupe you. For instance, if you hear one of your utility bills is going down, it’s likely to be true.

Big ruling in Delaware

It was late-breaking news in what was already a big news week when a Delaware Superior Court judge ruled Friday afternoon that the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit Dominion Voting Systems has waged against Fox News and Fox Corp. will go to trial in April. 

As Meredith Newman reports, Judge Eric Davis heard oral arguments for summary judgment in mid-March, unexpectedly extending into a nearly two-day hearing. Dominion and Fox each filed a motion for a summary judgment, asking the judge to make a decision on the case and avoid going to trial.
