A late layup in 76ers-Nets gave NBA bettors an outrageously bad beat
Nets #Nets
The Brooklyn Nets couldn’t hold on to win on Thursday night over the Philadelphia 76ers in the third game of their 2023 NBA playoff series.
They also couldn’t give bettors a break on an outrageously bad beat at the last second.
With the Nets down 100-97 to the 76ers with eight seconds to go, Brooklyn whiffed on the inbound pass as Philly’s Shake Milton nabbed the easy steal and laid it in for the game-sealing bucket.
With the 76ers earning the cover on the layup, those who bet the under (Nets +4.5) had to soak in the loss as Milton’s bucket sent the game into the over by half a point.
There’s just a certain point where you have to feel bad for the Nets in what’s been a deflating playoff series with the 76ers. They’re down three games and look like toast in this opening playoff round.
However, those who bet on the under for this game found themselves on the end of a NBA bad beat for the ages. Better luck next time?
