Amid rumors that A.J. Brown could be on his way out of Philadelphia, the star wide receiver made it clear he’s happy with the Eagles.

Speaking on SportsRadio 94WIP, Brown expressed his intention to stay in Philadelphia next season.

“I want to be here. It’s as simple as that,” Brown said. “I love where I’m at, it’s simple as that, next question.”

Brown also said he draws unnecessary comparisons to wide receiver Terrell Owens, who had a short-lived two-year stint with the Eagles in 2004 and 2005 that was marked by a shaky relationship with quarterback Donovan McNabb.

“The stigma between what T.O. did here, they always want to pinpoint that,” Brown said. “They always put me in this bubble and compare me to what he did. … That’s the reason I’m on the show today, I’m the person who stands up to the bully.”

Brown, who was traded to the Eagles from the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 2022 season, has had his two best NFL seasons in Philadelphia. After picking up 1,496 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 2022, he posted similar numbers in 2023 with 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns. He had the fifth-most receiving yards in the NFL last season.

The Eagles faced a crushing playoff exit against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wild-card round in a game where they were missing Brown, who had a sprained knee.

Philadelphia had a disappointing ending to the year after going 10-1 through the first 11 games of the season. The hot start was marred by a 1-5 finish and the early playoff exit.

The Eagles are looking to get back to the Super Bowl after their young core showed promise in the 2022 season, and bringing back Brown would be big in that quest.
