FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Hotter temperatures on the way

Good morning and happy hump day!  You need to be outside some this morning if you can, because this is the coolest we’re going to be for a while.  Temperatures are as cool as the lower 50s this morning, and we’re within a couple degrees of a record low!  We’ve got a mostly clear sky, and another fabulous day ahead of us.  Today begins a warming trend, but there will be a range in temperatures from west to east.

Highs will be in the lower 80s, with the eastern Ozarks near 80°.  We’ll see some clouds again from time to time, with the thickest ones over the western part of the region.  Some of these will come from storms rolling southeast through the plains, and others will develop overhead with a thin layer of air with a bit more moisture in it.  A southeast wind will start today and get a bit stronger tomorrow, bringing moisture back into our area.  So, much like the storms happening in the plains now, the same scenario will likely repeat and progressively move farther east.  This will bring some storms into western Missouri and Arkansas late Thursday, and perhaps more of the Ozarks on Thursday night and Friday morning.

At this point I think our relative best chance of rain will be Friday morning, with more isolated activity still possible for Saturday.  Upper high pressure will be building some and bringing hotter temperatures to the region each day.  Clouds will mitigate this some (and of course any storms), but we will likely be in the 90s by the weekend.
