Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explained that Marcus Rashford had a ‘little twinge’ in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over AC Milan on Thursday night but he hopes it’s nothing serious.

The England international was hooked off by Solskjaer at half-time, with Paul Pogba coming on to replace him.

Pogba scored a matter of minutes after his introduction off the bench as United advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

But while it was a great night for Pogba and the club, Solskjaer will now face a nervous wait on whether Rashford is fit for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester.

‘He had a little twinge,’ Solskjaer said in his post-match press conference.

His replacement, Pogba – who was returning from injury, put in a match-winning display and scored the game’s only goal.

‘Paul looked like he’d been out for six weeks, yeah for sure,’ Solskjaer added.

‘He’s been working really hard but when you play football it’s different.

‘He couldn’t play more than 45 [minutes]. He’ll get better and better.

‘That’s a big, big boost for us for the rest of the season.

‘The boys have done fantastic without him but we know Paul’s qualities.’
