The Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl odds actually got worse after signing Andy Dalton

The Chicago Bears have spent the past five years in search of a franchise quarterback following Jay Cutler’s departure. And, well, it hasn’t exactly been a successful endeavor.
The Bears traded up to draft Mitch Trubisky with the No. 2 pick in 2017. You know, the same draft that included Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. The Bears are already moving on from Trubisky who is a free agent. And just when Bears fans had some reason for excitement with Russell Wilson rumors, the Bears had to go ahead and sign Andy Dalton.
In fact, the Bears’ Super Bowl odds got worse after news broke of Dalton’s one-year deal.
Before the Dalton signing, William Hill’s Super Bowl odds had the Bears at 40-to-1. And all it took was that Dalton news to drop them down to 50-to-1.
Of course, those odds are probably more of a reflection on the Bears not getting Wilson. But Dalton isn’t going to inspire confidence around Chicago at all.
