Cardi B Is Loving Candace Owens’ Fox News Rant Over ‘WAP’ Grammy Performance

“You see that fundamentally we are seeing the destruction of American values and American principles. And it’s terrifying!” Owens exclaims. “Parents should be terrified that this is the direction that our society is heading towards. Again, we are weakening America…. We are setting the stage, and it feels like we are looking at corrosion, like we are about to see the end of an empire.”

But the chart-topping rapper jokingly applauded her appearance on the news broadcast, tweeting, “Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap.”

She later thanked Owens, whom she nicknamed “Candy,” for boosting the YouTube video of her Grammys performance, which has now amassed 4.7 million views and is the No. 1 trending video on the platform. “STREAM UP AND WAP .REMEMBER GROWN PARENTS ONLY YOU CAN MONITOR WHAT YOUR KIDS WATCH NO1 ELSE,” Cardi added.

But the Blackout author was not flattered by the remark and addressed the artist by her legal name in a follow-up statement on her Twitter account. “I don’t work for Fox News, Belcalis, nor do I take issue with you having success. I take issue with you being used to encourage young women to strip themselves of dignity,” Owens shot back. “Men typically treat women how they treat themselves. You know that.” She later described her performance at the Grammys “disgusting.”

This isn’t the first time these two faced off over “WAP” and its impact since the song’s release last summer, when it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In September, Owens shared a clip of her interview with fellow conservative commentator Ben Shapiro on his show, where she slammed Cardi’s interview with President Joe Biden as a move that pandered to Black Americans.
