YouTuber Puts Tenet on Game Boy Advance Cartridges ‘Out of Spite’

Tenet #Tenet

YouTuber Wulff Den uploaded the entirety of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet to five Game Boy Advance Video cartridges.

Prior to its release, director Christopher Nolan discussed how viewers would get the most out of watching his film Tenet in theaters. A YouTuber was then inspired to place the film on Game Boy Advance cartridges “out of spite.”

Ben Wulff posted the video on his Wulff’s Den channel, discussing how he transferred Tenet to five Game Boy Advance Video cartridges. Each cartridge holds about 30 minutes of video, which Wulff found perfect since Tenet has a runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Game Boy Advance Video is a format used to play full color, full-motion videos on a Game Boy Advance video game system. Game Boy Advance Video Paks launched in North America in 2004. Users could buy cartridges with pre-recorded shows, such as Pokémon. There were even video cartridges with full movies, including Dreamworks Animation’s Shrek and Shark Tale.

Tenet premiered in United States theaters in September 2020, serving as the first major blockbuster to debut in the United States in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Due to multiple theaters being closed in the wake of COVID-19, the film grossed just $57.93 million domestically. Tenet fared significantly better internationally, where it earned $305.2 million. Warner Bros. executives, including CEO Ann Sarnoff, expressed that they were pleased with the theatrical run of Tenet.
