Darnel Rhooms, a 23-year-old man from Brampton, was arrested and charged with a number of offences, including seven counts of failing to comply with release order, and two counts of possessing a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm.
Rhooms was held for a second bail hearing, following a release for previous serious firearm offences. and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on March 12.
“This arrest, involving a high-risk individual already on bail for serious firearm offences highlights the need for our justice system participants to work together,” stated Chief Nishan Duraiappah in a press release.
“The police alone cannot ensure our community’s safety.
“We need all stakeholders to be engaged and contribute to the solutions.”
