“Officers have continued to move to enforcement where appropriate with a number of further arrests and additional fixed penalty notices for breaches of the coronavirus restrictions, minor incidents of disorder and the use of pyrotechnic devices.

Fans spent over five hours singing songs on the statue in George Square before a cop ring of steel slowly closed in on them.

A few lone stranglers chanted “We Shall Not Be Moved” before cops moved in to remove the final fans about 9.55pm.

George Square was then closed to the public by officers, with a huge clean up operation expected to begin in the coming hours as huge piles of rubbish and broken glass filled the Square.

Footage from today has shown jubilant fans waving flags and letting off smoke bombs as they celebrate winning the league trophy.

Thousands of supporters were escorted by police along Paisley Road West as they marched to the city centre.

This comes after warnings from cops and the government urging fans not to gather in large numbers to celebrate.
